Season 2008 Starts with Pireos Fairplay Tournament
Members of Golf Club "St. Sofia" will receive the first credit card designed specifically for golfers in Bulgaria.

On May 17th and 18th at the first-class golf course "St. Sofia", near Ravno Pole village, shall be opened the golf season of 2008. For the first time the new golf season will begin with the biggest tournament of the club's calendar - the two-day "Pireos Fairplay" sponsored by Piraeus Bank. In the race will take part two of the best Bulgarian golfers, who will play 36 holes, devided into two divisions. Division A (players with handicap 0-20) will play singles medal, and Division B (handicap 21 +) will play a singles stableford. At the end of the second day of the tournament a winner will be selected from each division and he will receive The Big Prize, provided by Piraeus Bank - participation in the"PRO-AM" tournament, which will take hold on the island of Rhodes from 18 to 21 October, 2008.

There is no other sport without judges and that's because golf relies on the integrity of gentlemanlike relations, of sportsmanship and mutual respect. Because of the opening of the new golf season Piraeus Bank issues to all members of Golf Club "St. Sofia" the first of its kind credit card designed specifically for golfers - co-branded card "St. Sofia" Golf Club - Piraeus Visa Gold, with limits up to 20 000 Euro, preferential treatment and special discounts, provided by Golf Club "St. Sofia".

According to Alan Roggut, Director of Golf Club "St. Sofia", the terrain is very well prepared for the upcoming active season. "This year we have again taken care that field be in perfect condition for games during the upcoming golf season. During the winter there have been made a lot of improvements and reconstructions of the golf area, and we hope that it will satisfy the high requirements of our golfers and they remain satisfied with the changes", said Roggut. The Calendar of the Tournament of Golf Club "St. Sofia" is full of impressing upcoming events. "Many leading companies in Bulgaria gradually are beginning to realize the real value of the budget set aside for a golf event, and the list of names of tournaments for the year can be read as a "Who`s Who" in the business", added the Director of Golf Club St. Sofia.

Besides a certified golf course with 18 holes, complex "St. Sofia" offers modern training facilities - Driving Range and Puttin Green, where beginner golfers can train starting and ending strokes.

The equipment shops, as well as the stylish club on the field, are open to visitors. The tournament will end with an awarding ceremony for the winners and a cocktail for all participants, members and friends of Golf Club "St. Sofia".
